Deputies in Cheboygan County arrested a man who they say led them on quite a chase.

They spotted the man, who was the subject of a be on the lookout alert, on I-75 near Indian River around 1:00 Tuesday morning.

Deputies used stop sticks, but were unable to get the man to stop until he smashed into a barrier just south of Mackinaw City.

Deputies say at one point, the man was driving around 100 miles per hour.

He wasn’t hurt in the crash, but was taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

Lt. Timothy Cook from the Cheboygan Co. Sheriff Department said, “Everyone did an outstanding job to make this come to a resolution where nobody was injured in this.”

The man faces charges for running from police and driving under the influence of drugs.

The incident is still under investigation.
