Strong Storms Bring Tornado Through Kent County

9&10 News can confirm a tornado touched down in West Michigan last night.

The National Weather Service says the winds were as strong as 110 miles per hour.

The tornado injured several people and caused plenty of damage in Kent County.

Footage from Wyoming and Kentwood, near Grand Rapids, shows downed trees, damaged roofs and smashed vehicles.

Several buildings were partially collapsed. The strong storms also triggered flooding.
