Candlelight Vigil To Be Held Tonight For Hit-And-Run Victim

A Traverse City family who lost a dearly loved one is remembering her tonight exactly one year after she was killed in a hit-and-run.

Kelly Boyce Hurlbert is being honored this evening by her community with a memorial candlelight vigil.

It’s been one year since she was hit by a car near her home.

While the investigation is still ongoing and police are receiving hundreds of tips, the family is asking the community to help and to remember Kelly.

“For some of us, it’s going to be an opportunity to say thank you,” said Mike Moran, a close friend to Kelly’s family. “It’s going to be an opportunity to say I’m sorry for your loss, but it’s going to be a good opportunity for us to get together and share Kelly’s story, share a lot of memories about her in a classy way.”

The vigil is set to take place at 9 p.m.  in the F&A Park near Downtown Traverse City. We’ll have more from the memorial at 11.
