Blue Angels Take To Skies At Cherry Festival

The roar of jet engines swept over thousands of people as the Blue Angels flew into the wild blue yonder once again for the 88th National Cherry Festival.

While the Blue Angels, the widely-known U.S. Navy tactical demonstration squad, were the main event in the show,  people also were treated with coast guard demonstrations and a few other airplane stunts.

9&10’s Cody Boyer found his way through the crowds to see the Angels and just what it is about them that gets everyone excited.

A demonstration of an F-22 fighter jet and a Coast Guard mock rescue mission also helped entertain the droves of people who came out to the festival.

Unfortunately, the usual appearance of “Fat Albert,” a stunt cargo plane, has been postponed this year due to wing damage after hitting a bird.
