Tigers Krol pitches perfect 7th in rehab outing with Whitecaps

FORT WAYNE – Tigers lefty reliever Ian Krol pitched a perfect 7th inning for Detroit’s Single-A affiliate Friday night.  West Michigan won 3-1 in Fort Wayne.

Krol struck out the first batter he faced and threw strikes on seven of his 11 pitches.

“Shoulder felt great,” Krol said.  “All the inflammation is gone, everything felt good, back to normal, it’s good to be back on the mound facing hitters.  It makes all the difference, bullpens they help, but they are not the same.”

If Krol continues to feel good this weekend, he will pitch for West Michigan again in Fort Wayne Sunday, then join the Tigers in time to watch the Sunday Night Baseball game at Comerica Park.
