Vermont Firefighters Struck by Lightning

Several firefighters were rushed to the hospital after being struck by lightning as they tackled a house fire in Vermont.

Crews from six fire departments were sent in to fight the fire in Guilford, Vermont on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say the fire is believed to have been triggered by an earlier lightning bolt.

Everyone inside was able to make it out okay.

 Lt. Bevon Quinn is a Volunteer at the Guilford Volunteer Fire Department, and he said, “Traveled through the ground found fire fighters near and shocked them.”

The firefighters were taken to an emergency room, but no serious injuries were reported.
