Prevent the Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species

State officials want to remind anglers and boaters to clean your boats, trailers, and equipment before and after using them to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species in Michigan.

Boats can unintentionally spread species from one body of water to another.

However, most of these situations are avoidable.

Make sure to clean your boats by draining water from bilges and live wells at the ramp, dry trailers and dispose of unused bait in the trash.
