Boeing, NASA Team Up to Send Humans Beyond Moon’s Orbit

The Boeing company finalized a $2.8 billion contract with NASA to work on a project that will send humans beyond the moon’s orbit for the first time.

Boeing announced Wednesday it will be the prime contractor on the job.

The goal is to develop the core stage of the Space Launch System.

The SLS will be the most powerful rocket ever built.

Boeing hopes to have an initial test flight by 2017.
