Obama Seeks Immigration Reform Without Congressional Approval

President Obama says he will take matters into his own hands when it comes to immigration.

A White House official says House Speaker John Boehner told the President the House will not vote on an immigration overhaul this year.

Now President Obama says he will change immigration policies through executive actions without congressional approval.

He made a few remarks on the issue earlier today.

“I take executive action only when we have a serious problem, a serious issue and congress chooses to do nothing, and in this situation the failure of House Republicans to pass a darn bill is bad for our security, bad for our economy and bad for our future.”

President Obama says thousands of unaccompanied children are showing up at US borders and congress needs to act.
