Midland Police Chase, Arrest Man After Hit And Run

In Midland, city police say one of their officers witnessed a hit and run accident.

The officer was on patrol when he heard the accident at the corner of Ashman and West Union around 10:50 last night.

He saw a GMC Yukon take off from the scene of the crash.

The officer tried to stop the driver, but, due to heavy traffic, called off the chase.

But, a short time later reports came in of a suspicious vehicle near Loons Stadium, which turned out to be the Yukon.

When officers approached the vehicle, the suspect tried again to take off on foot, but was quickly captured.

The Midland man was driving on a suspended license and faces multiple charges for the hit and run.

He also had a warrant out from Midland County on similar charges.

The driver from the other vehicle in the accident was not hurt.
