Weekend-Long Arts Open House in Frankfort

If you’d like to bring a little art appreciation into your weekend activities, we have the perfect event for you.

The Elizabeth Lane Oliver Center for the Arts in Frankfort will have its third annual open house this weekend.

And for the first time, the event will take up the entire weekend, beginning Friday night.

There will be lots to see, instructors offering tips, and a chance for adults to go “hands-on” in the ceramic studio on Saturday.

The kids get their turn Sunday with chalk art, ceramics, jewelry making and plenty more.

Steven Brown, the Executive Director of the center, said, “And we’re a service organization ultimately, so the fact that we offer free events all year round, artists talks, all kinds of things…jewelry exhibitions, jewelry displays, art displays, classes, it’s really cool that people can access this all year round.

Brown says the center has about 450 memberships, encompassing about 750 people, and if you’d like to join, or just learn more about the center, you’ll have that opportunity at the open house.
