Arrests Made On 25 Year Old Murder Investigation

After 25 years of a murder investigation, a father is still shocked from what he found out about the case yesterday.

Shannon Siders was killed back in the summer of 1989 in Newaygo County.

In 2011, a cold case task force reopened the investigation.

Thanks to the team work, the Siders family now has new hope for justice.

Michigan state police arrested Matthew Jones and Paul Jones yesterday.

Shannon was last seen with the Jones brothers in their car and when she never returned home, that’s when the investigation began.

Even though this brings the Siders family some relief, the case is far from being done

“Nothing’s gonna bring Shannon back, nothing’s gonna change it just somebody’s gonna be punished for a crime they committed and that seems right to me,” said Bob Siders, Shannon’s father.

The Jones brothers are both charged with premeditated, first degree murder.

If convicted, they could face life in prison without parol.
