VA Centers Lacking in Women’s Health Care

More problems are surfacing about the troubled Veterans Affairs Department.  This time it’s gender specific.

The VA’s Office of Women’s Health says they are falling short of treating women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

An Associated Press review finds about one in four VA hospitals do not have a full-time gynecologists, and 15% of community based clinics do not have a women’s health provider.

The Veterans Affairs have invested more than $1.3 billion in gender-specific care since 2008, training professionals to treat the female body.

But, they admit there are still persistent shortcomings.
