UPDATE: Doerr Sentenced for Accident Killing Two Traverse City Men

An update on a deadly crash that killed two men from Traverse City.

Patrick Doerr pleaded no contest to the crash that killed William Kochis and John Pomeroy, near Grand Rapids.

Police say Doerr was traveling more than 80 miles an hour when he rear ended them in morning rush our traffic in September.

Doerr will spend one year in the Kent County Jail.

Police say the man refused to take a blood test, but a urine screening found cocaine and opiates in his system.

That test was not allowed in court.

A judge says more testing should have been done at the time of the accident.
