Boy Rescued By Coast Guard, Recovering From Hypothermia

A 16-year-old boy is recovering from hypothermia, this morning.

The coast guard rescued the teen Saturday night in Frankfort.

He was trying to swim across Betsie Bay.

There were two teens in the water not wearing life jackets, but both were released with no major medical concerns.

The coast guard encourages people to wear life jackets while out on the water.

They also say it’s important to make sure someone knows your plans when you are in and around water.
