Wings announce 2014-15 schedule

The Red Wings announced their 2014-15 schedule Sunday afternoon.  Detroit spends their first three games at home.  They open the season October 9th by hosting the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season.  They actually host the Boston Bruins twice in the first three games of the season.

Their first road game of the season is at Toronto October 17th.

Other highlights include a Halloween matchup against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Kings at Joe Louis Arena.

Detroit hosts former division rival Chicago only once.  The Blackhawks come to Joe Louis Arena November 14th.

The Wings host the Flyers the night before Thanksgiving (November 26).  They host the Devils on New Years Eve (December 31).  The Winnepeg Jets come to Detroit on Valentines Day (February 14).  The holiday slate wraps up with Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals in Detroit on Easter (Arpil 5).
