VA Audit Shows Thousands More Vets Wait at Least a Month for Medical Appointments

An updated audit shows tens of thousands more veterans had to wait at least a month for medical appointments at VA facilities.

731 Veterans Affairs hospitals and clinics were included in the updated audit.

More than 4% of veterans didn’t get help within 30 days.  That’s more than double from the last report.

But the audit also shows average wait times were shorter than what appointment schedules show.

VA officials say the two reports conclude that many veterans are still waiting too long for care.
