STEM Camp for Girls Holds Water Robotics Competition

Campers hit the pool to show off their robotic skills at McGuire’s Resort.

It all took place at the STEM Camp for Girls where the campers were put into random teams of two earlier this week.

They were given a kit and had two days to build a vehicle called a C-perch.

The students had just five minutes to navigate their creations through the water in an obstacle course.

“I was really happy that I got to do this but I was anxious at the same time but I was really proud that I got to make this thing and actually see how it works,” said student Grace McKnight.

The camp is designed to promote an interest in science and engineering for girls at a young age as well as teach communication skills and teamwork.
