Antrim County Accident Sends Four to Hospital

Four people were taken to the hospital after a van crashed into a dump truck.

It happened Thursday afternoon on US-31 at Cairn Highway in Antrim County.

Sheriff Bean says the driver of the van, a 16-year-old who just received her permit, ran into the back of the dump truck as it was making a left turn onto Cairn Highway from US-31.

All four people in the van, including the driver’s mother and two teens, were taken to Munson Medical Center with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not hurt.

The Sheriff says the mother of the driver was the only person not wearing a seat belt.

No citations have been issued yet and the accident is still under investigation.
