CMU’s Matt Trowbridge signs with Orioles
CMU pitcher Matt Trowbridge has signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles, forgoing his senior season in Mt. Pleasant to turn pro.
Trowbridge is the third Chippewa to reach an agreement with a MLB team in the last two weeks joining fellow pitchers pat Kaminska and Jordan Foley.
The Orioles drafted Trowbridge in the 13th round with the 391st pick in the MLB Draft earlier this month.
The southpaw did most of his work out of the bullpen with CMU this season appearing in 16 games, 14 of them in relief, and posting a 2.59 ERA with five saves and 43 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched.
