Parade of Houses Holds 25th Anniversary

Traverse City started its 25th Annual Parade of Homes and Development today, showing off 13 homes to over 500 people.

Residents toured new homes throughout Grand Traverse County in an exhibit of craftsmanship from local builders and contractors.

With nearly $300,000 in donations over the last 10 years, the Home Builders Association holds the event each year in support of the work of local industry professionals.

“For a lot of us, it was tough to get the houses done because the winter we had created a huge backlog for all of the subcontractors, even the suppliers,” said Brian Mohr, owner of Calybr Homes LLC.  “A lot of us raced to the finish and just got by to get our houses done and get them ready for the parade.”

The Home Builders Association opened over 500 parade homes over the last 25 years.
