West Michigan Jet Rally Flies into Baldwin Municipal Airport
Wheels up at the RC Jet Rally at Baldwin Municipal Airport this weekend.
Pilots from all over Michigan and even Ohio came out to participate in this years event.
They say it’s the top gun for aviation hobbyists and are out flying when the sun comes up until it gets dark to showcase their skills and thousand dollar investments.
Len Todd, the President of the Lake County Modelers and Fliers Association, says its purpose is to help the local economy while having fun with people they like to fly with.
“Last year at the expo we had about 500 spectators and 32 pilots. But this rally we’ll probably see 20 to 30 pilots with 60 to 70 jets and hopefully we’ll get our 400 to 500 faithful spectators again.”
