Meals on Wheels Program Looking for Community’s Support

A program that helps thousands of people is now in need of your help to continue.

The Crawford County Commission on Aging is putting on their first ever major fundraiser Saturday night for their Meals on Wheels program.

Several auctions and events will be held at the AuSable Artisan Village Gallery in downtown Grayling from 4 pm until 7 pm.

Organizers say they have been struggling for way too long and needed to finally do something on their own to keep the meals flowing.

“We serve about 31,000 meals on wheels a year and that number continues to grow and our funding from the state and federal government has continued to decline,” says Alice Snyder, Director of the Crawford County Commission on Aging.

If tomorrow’s event is a success, organizers hope to make it an annual fundraiser.
