Immigrant Children Flood Over U.S. Border Illegally

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh  Johnson issued a warning Thursday to the parents of thousands of immigrant children flooding over the U.S. border.

Johnson says the children are in danger when they’re sent here illegally, without a parent.

He says the government is giving humanitarian aid to the kids, but that they won’t benefit from the recent reforms passed in the states.

“We provide a number of things for children when we find them because they require it and because our values require it. But it is not safe. It is not a desirable situation,” Johnson states.

More than 47,000 children have been apprehended at the Mexican border since the start of the budget year, in October.

Johnson says the Obama Administration is scrambling to put a stop to the recent spike in illegal immigration.
