Feedback at 5:00: No Vote on Road Funding

No deal was made to fix Michigan roads as the Senate adjourns for summer break.

Michigan lawmakers did not vote on a bill that would send more money into road improvements. The plan discussed Thursday would have nearly doubled the 19 cents per gallon of gas tax over the next few years which would keep pace with inflationary construction costs.

MDOT is pushing to get work done on deteriorating roads and bridges, but that’ll have to wait until the next time they meet.

What do you think about Michigan’s lawmakers leaving the Capitol without making a decision on road funding?
