Feedback at 5:00: School Security

Following recent deadly school violence around the nation, Northern Michigan’s largest school district is stepping up it’s security.

This week, Traverse City Area Public Schools voted to spend $480,000 to install aluminum shields on every entrance and boot locks for each classroom door.

The device aims to slow down and frustrate an armed intruder in case of an attack.

TCAPS, along with other schools in Northern Michigan, already take part in state-mandated lock-down drills.
