Five Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan Friendly Fire Incident

Five American soldiers are dead following what appears to be a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan.

Reports suggest they could have died from a US air strike, and the Taliban has claimed responsibility for attacking the troops.

The International Coalition announced the news Monday.

All five soldiers died on Monday when their unit came into contact with enemy forces during a security operation.

This could be one of the most serious cases of coalition friendly fire during the entire 14 year war in Afghanistan.

This year, 36 NATO service members have been killed in Afghanistan.

President Obama recently announced plans to remove all US troops from Afghanistan within the year.
