UPDATE: Oregon High School Shooting Victim Identified

Authorities identified the student shot and killed in Tuesday morning’s tragic shooting in Oregon. 14-year-old Emilio Hoffman, a freshman at Reynolds High School was killed in the boys’ locker room.

Students hid in their classrooms and swat teams swarmed the campus just days before the start of summer vacation. 

Overnight, parents and students mourned their classmate together. 

One of the school’s physical education teachers, Todd Rispler, was grazed by a bullet and is expected to survive.

Police say the gunman took his own life.

The name of the gunman isn’t being released until family is notified.

Police say a suspect and a student are dead following a shooting at an Oregon high school. Police say the shooter was found dead in the bathroom from self-inflicted wounds from a rifle.

Several police agencies swarmed Reynolds High School in Troutdale, about 16 miles from Portland just after 8:00 a.m. this morning.

Police say the suspect shot and killed another student.

Students and staff were seen evacuating the school with their hands raised above their heads. Students say teachers quickly locked them inside classrooms.

Teens inside the school began texting their parents after they heard two gunshots.

They were eventually reunited with their parents at a nearby shopping center.

The motive is under investigation.
