High School ACT Exam Makes Changes

School may be out soon, but it’s never too early to get your high school student prepared for college admissions exams.

The popular ACT exam is now broadening how it reports students’ scores.

Starting next year students will receive a score on two new readiness indicators, reflecting how they did in terms of career readiness and understanding complex text.

Two other new categories will offer students a separate score on a performance measure that combines the science and math portions, while another will combine areas of language arts.

And, the optional writing section will be modified to make the essay topics more advanced.
