High Amount of Fish Kill Due to Harsh Winter

While boaters are out on the water this weekend it may be common for anglers to see dead fish or other aquatic creatures.

A Michigan DNR official says this time of the year is when you see a high amount of fish kill, especially in shallow lakes, streams and ponds.

It’s even more common for aquatic life to die during long, harsh winters.

If you see a fish, or any other animal in the water, it is recommended to not touch it.
