China Conference Kicks Off in Traverse City

It’s called China Today: Competitor or Partner?

A conference this week in Traverse City hosted by the International Affairs Forum.

Business and education leaders will discuss ways to make a partnership with the China market work for Northern Michigan.

As American companies begin to tap the 1.4 billion people in China, their companies will come here in return.

Several local companies have already begun to expand into the Chinese market and are finding success.

“We make a cherry wine here which we have found is unique in the market place, my distributor over there doesn’t think there is another pure cherry wine in the market so we have found a real niche,” says President of Chateau Grand Traverse Eddie O’Keefe III.

The public is welcome at the conference which starts Friday at the Hagerty Center.
