UPDATE: Detroit Company Recalls 1.8M Pound of Ground Beef
Wolverine Packing Company, based in Detroit, is recalling about 1.8 million pounds of ground beef products.
The beef sold to restaurants in 10 states, including Michigan, may be contaminated with E. coli.
Food Safety and Inspection Services says it was produced between March 31st and April 18th and have the establishment number “EST. 2574B.”
The illness can cause extreme stomach pain, kidney failure and even death.
So far, though, the 11 people who’ve reported feeling sick have not died.
Ten of those people reported eating at the same restaurant. But federal officials won’t name the business.
