Northwestern Michigan College Hosts 59th Annual BBQ

Today Northwestern Michigan College hosted an up north favorite, and long standing tradition…their annual barbecue.

The NMC barbecue brings multiple generations out  and families who have been coming their whole lives.

They say it’s volunteer driven, and volunteers are the ones who really make it happen. Each year about 500 volunteers help grill, clean, and make the vent fun.

Thousands lined up for some BBQ today, but it’s not unusual. Organizers say each year people come rain or shine, because it’s a tradition for so many Michiganders.

Organizers say over the years, these barbecues have helped raise more than $1 million in funding for the school to help with improvements.
