UPDATE: Medical Examiners ID Body Of Man Found In Clinch Park Marina

Medical examiners performed an autopsy Tuesday on the body of a man found in Traverse City’s Clinch Park Marina and have positively identified him.

The medical examiners office positively identified the victim as Jeremy Zerbe. The cause of death was ruled as “cold water drowning” and has been ruled accidental. They believe Zerbe died around February 26th when he was reported missing.

Traverse City Police do not believe the raft had anything to do with Zerbe’s death, but that the wind and waves pushed it and Zerbe’s body to the same location.

A woman visiting the area was taking a walk around noon Monday. She saw some tennis shoes sticking out from underneath a raft that appeared to have floated away from somebody’s property.

The woman called police, saying she believed there was a body under the raft. Emergency crews rushed to the scene.
