LSSU announced the addition of Damon Whitten Saturday at a press conference at the Cisler Center.

Whitten graduated from Michigan State in 2001, so he played for former Laker coach Ron Mason.

Whitten later worked as Director of Hockey Operations for the Spartans under another former Laker great Rick Comley.

Whitten other stops included being an Assistant Coach at Alaska-Anchorage, Wayne State and most recently Michigan Tech.

A native of Brighton, Whitten becomes the 10th Laker Head Coach in the program’s 48-year history.
