Antrim Co. Woman Accused Of Embezzling Thousands From Engineering Company

A Kewadin woman is charged with stealing at least $50,000 from her employer.

Cora Crawford is accused of embezzling between $50,000 and $100,000 from Elk Rapids Engineering.

Crawford was formally charged this week.

The engineering company is a division of Star Cutter, a larger corporation located down state.

Police say she is responsible for taking money from Elk Rapids Engineering from 2012 to 2013.

Court records show Crawford had received checks totaling more than $70,000.

The documents say Crawford was authorized to write and sign checks at the business.

But unusual financial activity was discovered after a new plant manager was hired.

Crawford faces felony charges.
