Health Department Pushes Health Menu Info
A CDC grant is helping the Central Michigan District Health Department get dozens of local eateries to enhance their menus with nutritional information.
More than 50 restaurants have signed up to know their nutrition through the Mt. Pleasant-based health department.
Participating restaurants will select several menu items and send their recipes to the health department to be analyzed.
Then the eateries will post the information in their menus, everything from calories to fat and sodium contents.
9&10 News' Eric Lloyd sat down with one participating restaurant and has more details.
