Circuit Court Judge Throws Out Michigan Ban on Exotic Swine

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — A Northern Michigan circuit court judge says Michigan's ban on certain exotic swine is unconstitutional.

Judge Thomas Solka of Marquette County made the ruling that sides with three Upper Peninsula operations.

The three challenged a DNR order issued in 2010.
It targets animals such as Russian wild boar and razorback hogs, naming them as invasive species that would be off-limits in Michigan.
Judge Solka's ruling calls the order unreasonable and unfair.
