Scotton Sentenced For Sex Crimes In Charlevoix County

A Northern Michigan man will spend between 15 and 40 years in prison for an attack that happened back in August of 2013.

Matthew Scotton was sentenced today on charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon, and domestic violence for the attack that happened on August 28th in Charlevoix.

Scotton was convicted on February 25th.
 The prosecuting attorney says excellent police work by the Charlevoix Police Department led to the arrest and conviction.
