Businesses Work To Stay Busy In Between Seasons

We're sort of in between seasons, winter and spring.

Businesses are running sales and specials, to keep people coming in while nature makes up its mind.

Restaurants like Red Ginger in Traverse City have managed to stay fairly busy during the slower months, but they do see a slight slide-off in business as the mercury drops.

For retail shops like Robert Frost Fine Footwear, the extended winter is creating some challenges, when it comes to ordering their spring collection.

“We really struggle with the spring buy, because there's not a lot of justification for me to bring open sandals to my consumer, unless they're going on vacation, but even then, it's a dynamic for me. I have to pay for these goods, and if I have a small clientele, it doesn't always justify it,” said Joe Frost of Robert Frost Fine Footwear.

Many businesses say they're looking forward to a warm up, to draw more people out.
