Michigan Lawmakers Pass Liquor Law Changes For Breweries

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A law passed in Lansing will let Michigan's microbreweries expand.

Legislators unanimously approved bills changing the definition of the microbrewery.

If they are signed by Governor Snyder, microbrewery production limits will double from 30,000 to 60,000 barrels a year.

And startup craft brewers will be allowed to do some of their own distributing.

Breweries, like Shorts in Bellaire, say these bills will help the industry grow and create more jobs.
