Training Exercise Helped Prepare and Challenge Area Emergency Responders

It's a training exercise to help prepare and challenge area emergency responders.

The harsh winter conditions continue to bring about problems on the road.

Today, Mason County simulated a 16 car pile-up on a snowy road helping prepare responders for a real emergency.

And 30 volunteers were placed in the exercise to simulate a mass casualty incident on a secluded road in Ludington. Responders from all over the region participated in the training. They were told to act as if it were real. Assessed the accident, rescued victims, and communicated with other responders.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard captured the exercise, and found out what they learned form the training.
