Petoskey Wins 4th Straight Boys Team Ski Championship

The Petoskey boys made it four straight skiing state championships today, winning the Division 2 title at Nub's Nob.  Cadillac was the runner-up in the boys standings with the duo of Elk Rapids and St. Francis finishing fourth.  On the girls side, Houghton, Harbor Springs and Petoskey all finished in the top 5 with Bloomfield Hills taking home the team title.

Some local athletes also won individual state titles in Division 2.  On the boys side, Cadillac's Keenan Cooper won both the slalom and giant slalom, Petoskey's Mia Ciccoretti won the girls' slalom and St. Francis sophomore Carlee McCardel won the girls' giant slalom for the second year in a row.

In Division 1 at Schuss Mountain in Shanty Creek, Marquette won the boys team title with both T.C. Central (2nd) and T.C. West (5th) finishing in the top five of the standings.  The Trojans were also the runners up on the girls side with Brighton taking home the title.

There were no local athletes who won individual titles in Division 1 races.
