Cold Temps Could Become an Issue for Schools

Some Northern Michigan schools could close next week as the arctic air hangs on.

Temperatures are supposed to be in the single digits, and some below zero for most of the area in the beginning of the week.

Traverse City Area Public Schools says there are a number of factors that could cause them to close the school for inclement weather. Road conditions, wind chill, and visibility all play a role.

The superintendent says on questionable mornings, they send out spotters early to check conditions.
