Northern Michigan Theater Raising Funds to Upgrade to Digital Projectors
Movie theaters across the country are upgrading to digital projectors.
Hollywood will soon stop distributing movies on film.
Rialto Theatre in Grayling is going digital for the first time in 100 years, and needs the community's help to make it possible.
The family-run theater has been showing 35 millimeter films since the 30's. The theater operator says it will be phased out over the next few months, forcing small theaters to upgrade.
The theater says they hope to raise $100,000 by the end of February so they can purchase the proper equipment.
