Go Green and Recycle Your Christmas Tree

The ornaments and the tinsel are in boxes, now all you have left is a bare Christmas Tree. But what to do with it?

Emmet County recycling says the last thing you want to do is burn it.

Instead, go green and recycle your tree! There's places all over to do it — and Emmet County is letting people drop of their trees for free. Once you recycle it, the tree is turned into mulch or compost.

Things like wrapping paper and old Christmas lights they don't work can be recycled too.

Remember: Tissue paper, ribbons and bows are not recyclable, but are re-usable.
