President Advisory Panel Recommends NSA Overhaul
WASHINGTON (AP) — Developing news surrounding the National Security Agency.
A president advisory panel is recommending an overhaul — stripping the NSA of its power to store Americans' phone records and requiring a court order to sign off on individual searches of phone and Internet data.
The panel does not recommend the agency stop seizing phone and Internet data entirely.
It's not clear if the proposed changes would limit the scope of the collections.
