Michigan Students Can Use Confidential Tip Line OK-2-Say

A new law in Michigan will allow students to use a new confidential tip line to alert authorities to potential dangerous situations by next year.

Governor Rick Snyder held a conference Tuesday to promote the new program, called 'OK-2-Say'.

Students can now report possible shootings, suicides, or anything that could threaten a person or the community.

OK-2-Say is based off a similar model Colorado created after the Columbine shootings.

The law would also require the school to report back to police what action was taken, so law enforcement can be involved and informed at all times.
