Man Accused Of Killing Isabella Co. Child Could Face Two Trials

An update to a case against an Isabella County man accused of killing a toddler.

Wednesday a federal judge agreed to divide the charges against Anthony Bennett.

Police say he killed 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain in June 2012.

Investigators found the boy's body under his home on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation near Mt. Pleasant.

The judge's decision means Bennett will face two trials if prosecutors decide to pursue all seven charges he faces.

The trial for first degree murder is set for January 14th in Bay City Federal Court.
