Bijou By The Bay Celebrates Its Grand Opening

Traverse City's newest movie theater made its official debut Friday.

Bijou By The Bay is celebrating it's grand opening.
The Bijou occupies the former Con Foster Museum.

The Traverse City Film Festival bought the building and turned it into downtown's second movie theatre.

Friday night marks the first time since 1940 that a new theatre has opened downtown.

The theater's interior was decorated to reflect the Con Foster Building's rich history.

The grand opening festivities will continue through next week.

And after Thanksgiving, the Bijou is bringing the Hunger Games sequel to their big screen.
